Citric Sheep is looking for an Intermediate Python Backend Engineer to help develop AI-powered applications, backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and intelligent automation solutions used in production environments.
You do not need prior professional AI experience. Strong Python fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn are more important than deep expertise in machine learning.
What You'll Do
You'll work closely with experienced engineers to build and improve production software systems for clients across multiple industries.
Your work may include:
Developing backend services and APIs in Python
Building integrations with AI and LLM-powered tools
Creating and improving data processing workflows
Writing clean, maintainable, production-quality code
Participating in code reviews and engineering discussions
Collaborating with engineers, technical leads, and clients to deliver software solutions
What We're Looking For
2+ years of professional Python development experience
Strong Python programming fundamentals
Professional-level English
Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Interest in learning AI application development
Nice to Have
Experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks
Familiarity with REST APIs and backend systems
Experience with SQL databases
Familiarity with Docker
Exposure to cloud platforms
